The Synthesis

The Synthesis

The accountant field has different type of roles that people don't recognize. Most people don’t recognize the different type of accountants, because they only think of public accountants or personal accountants. They have different job description but somewhat similar. Public Accountant work for business organization, and a personal accountant helps you with budgeting and tax preparation. People tend to only recognize these type of accountant because of their popularity, always podcasted on television, radios, and on media. In the accounting field I learned that there's a lot of different roles, possibilities, and positions; I learned these thing from other blogs and from doing research for mine.
Other types of accountants and Auditors, and Forensic Accountants each of them play a different role and have a different job title.  The auditor has a responsibility to plan and perform the audit to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements are free of material misstatements, whether caused by error or fraud.  Auditor accountants are important for companies, because they help them fix mistakes and fraud. According to Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (AACF)  "Forensic Accountants are employed by public accounting firms’ forensic accounting divisions; by consulting firms specializing in risk consulting and forensic accounting services; or by lawyers, law enforcement agencies, insurance companies, government organizations or financial institutions. Due to heightened awareness and growing intolerance of fraudulent activity, demand for Forensic Accountants is rapidly increasing"
With having each different type of accountant, there's a different position like staff accountant, tax accountant, senior accountant, and etc. They have different types of responsibilities and there's always a chance for promotion. The more years you work the more experience you have, so there's a better chance of getting a promotion.
Information from my blog will explain the different promotions and responsibilities A tax senior has experience on the job for 3-6 years.  According to  Vault Career Guide “They offered suggesting for tax planning, manage tax planning, manage tax staff and study the internal revenue code and others applicable tax laws for potential clients tax savings.”(Pg.66 vaults accounting)This job position is similar to a tax staff but they just have more experience. They have more responsibilities and help guide tax staff though their job. A tax manager hold the position for 6+ years. “Tax managers direct and review tax senior and tax staff personnel; approve corporate tax return prepared by tax staff, perform tax planning and research unusual tax matters; handle day-to-day client relationship issues plan engagements billing and other administration duties.”(Pg.67 accounting) Tax mangers are basically the boss and analyze the Tax staff and senior work. Their job is to hold things together and make sure that the work and tax return is done correctly.
I learned though blogging the nature of the work environment in the accounting field, and the language of communication. Blogging helped with different type of writing to a different audiences; it also showed how people use different forms of communication in my field. Doing this blog project will benefit me in my future, it gave me an idea of what to expected in my career after graduating.
Doing this blog project I struggled with consistency, posting on time, and formatting my posts. I believe I struggled, because I had a lot of health problems this semester and it  distracted me  from doing school work this semester; but I enjoy doing this project.

Evaluating Source Regulation in the accounting industry

I read an article about the regulation in the accounting industry. The argument was that regulation creates increased compliance costs for the business with the need to engage expensive specifically trained personnel to regulations to the financial affairs of a business. Regulation can be or colored or be bias towards a particular prevailing political points view

Math in Accounting

Everyone has heard that accounting is all about number and that you have to take a lot of math course in college to be an accountant.

"A certain amount of math is required to be an accountant, but only the very basics. If you are aware of the principals involved in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, you already have enough math knowledge to be an accountant. There is limited algebra involved, but nothing more.

Being an accounting isn't all about math it’s about problem solving so you don’t have to be good in math because you will always be able to use a calculator.
